Founded in 1921, War Resisters' International exists to promote nonviolent action against the causes of war, and to support and connect people around the world who refuse to take part in war or the preparation of war. On this basis, WRI works for a world without war.
As an international organisation, War Resister's International required an advanced multi lingual site, allowing various members of the organisation to collaborate remotely and in different languages. Users not only collaborate on documents - but also on the conscientious objector's database. The database is not only published as part of the site, but is actually created and edited through the site, allowing users across the globe to use it and participate in developing it.
The site also incorporates WRI's Co-Alerts system, allowing urgent alerts on conscientious objectors to be emailed automatically - providing links back to the database for accurate information.
